Uptown Funk
My song of choice this week is "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars. I believe almost everyone has heard this song, it is a very popular music that has won various awards around the world. I also like this song very much. When I first came to the United States to study abroad, the school played this song. In the future college life, I can often hear it, as if it is a kind of companionship, a kind of growth for me, and it also shows that it is still a classic even after so long.
My favorite passage is
"Girls hit your hallelujah (whoo),
Girls hit your hallelujah (whoo),
Girls hit your hallelujah (whoo),
'Cause uptown funk gon' give it to you,
'Cause uptown funk gon' give it to you,
'Cause uptown funk gon' give it to you,
Saturday night and we in the spot,
Don't believe me just watch (come on)", it does the repetition just right, I also think it's the whole song the highlight part. I found an answer on Google for this song that I didn't know before. Whether the dark side of the song has anything to do with cocaine. Regardless, the strong bass lines complement the energetic vocals and it's a great song with a very upbeat and funky tune. I like it!
I agree! This song was/is super popular. I remember when it first started playing on the radio everyone went crazy over it. The actual meaning of this song could definitely be about dark things but I think the overall bass and tune override that. Overall, this song is still an awesome party tune.
ReplyDeleteBruno Mars will never disappoint! It is unfortunate that he is seriously so good that his songs get as overplayed as they do because I love to listen to them. This one is probably one of his best in the sense that it is catchy, fun, and just a hype song. I also love that even though the meaning might be inappropriate it is very family friendly. It is intended for all audiences. He is so good at doing that, especially in his earlier years. Thanks for sharing!
