LB 6: You Can't Hurry Love

You Can't Hurry Love My song of choice this week is You Can't Hurry Love by The supremes. When I first heard this song, the prelude brought me joy, and I still feel that way after listening to it. When I single loop it and listen to its lyrics, this song is a memory of my mother's encouraging words, don't worry about love, as long as you have patience, you will definitely find the right person. My mother's words and this cheerful atmosphere are extremely beautiful memory. It was my mother who taught me to learn to wait and learn to love. In addition, the R&B of the whole song gives people a relaxed feeling, and the words of my mother are not preaching here, but the communication between friends. The lyric "You can't hurry love. No, you just have to wait" had a profound impact on me, not only as of the title of the song but also repeated several times in the song, which has a bit of a title meaning. Overall, I like this song, the singer's voice...

LB 5: Nature Boy

Nature Boy My song of choice this week is Nature Boy, performed by Nat King Cole. The beginning of the song appealed to me, it felt like a movie opening. I seriously single-looped the song, and the song felt like a fairy tale to me, wonderful and mysterious, especially for the minute-by-minute changes in the orchestral playing. After my research, the song arranger used strings and flutes as instruments in the song to capture the "charming" atmosphere of the track. That's why I'm drawn to it. I took a closer look at the lyrics, "The greatest thing you'll ever learn. Is just to love and be loved in return" which is repeated at the end of the song to elevate the message. In the course of my research, I saw a comment, and I very much agree with it, that "the melody and lyrics of 'Nature Boy' are so otherworldly, that they have existed in time and from the moment it was written. out of place". This is undoubtedly a high rating for this song...

LB 4: Paper Doll

Paper Doll My recommendation this week is The Mills Brothers' paper doll. I have to say, when I heard this song for the first time in class, I was amazed by its tune, even though I didn't understand the lyrics carefully at the time, I immediately searched and liked this song after class. I like the vibe of the whole song, especially the first minute. After reading the lyrics, I was saddened again and wondered why the author wrote it this way. After searching, Wikipedia told me that this is a sad love story. The lyrics "I'm gonna buy a Paper Doll that I can call my own" and "I'd rather have a Paper Doll to call my own" echo each other, which left a deep impression on me, reflecting the author's experience in the mood after the failure of love, and his desire for a "doll" of his own. The ending "Than have a fickle-minded real live girl" will make me feel that the author shows disappointment in love and a feeling of powerlessnes...
